Refunds and Returns Policy
This policy covers competition registrations and products bought through the UQIC online store (merchandise and supplements). It operates alongside, and does not limit, your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
Our services (including competition registrations) also come with ACL guarantees, including that they will be provided with due care and skill and within a reasonable time. Nothing in this policy excludes those guarantees.
Competition registration refunds
- Competition cancelled by UQIC: if we cancel a competition before it starts and cannot offer a comparable alternative, you receive a full refund.
- Competition significantly changed: if we materially change the night or format after you register and you cannot reasonably attend, you may choose a transfer to another competition or a refund.
- Change of mind before the season starts: refund available less a $10 administration fee, which covers non-refundable payment processing costs and handling.
- Change of mind after the season has started: no refund. This includes changing your mind because of timetable or class clashes with your competition night, so check your timetable against the game schedule before the season begins. Team structures, insurance and jersey orders are locked in once play starts.
- Season-ending injury: no refund, but you may transfer your registration to another player at no charge. A transfer is not available if you are claiming on insurance.
- Washouts and forfeits: washed-out or forfeited games are made up during the season and are not refundable. Wet weather procedures are set out in the Rules and FAQ.
Merchandise and supplement returns
- Faulty, damaged or wrong item: contact us within a reasonable time of pickup and we will provide a replacement or refund in line with the ACL, including where an item is unsafe, significantly different from its description, or does not do what such a product should do.
- Change of mind, merchandise: unworn merchandise with tags may be exchanged or refunded within 14 days of pickup. Personalised items (custom jerseys with your name or number) cannot be returned for change of mind.
- Change of mind, supplements: for health and safety reasons we cannot accept change of mind returns on supplements, food or drink products once collected, whether opened or unopened. This does not affect your ACL rights for faulty products.
- Uncollected orders: uncollected orders are handled under the Online Store and Pickup Terms.
How to claim
Email enquiries@uqic.com.au with your name, order or registration details, and a description of the issue (photos help for product faults). We aim to respond within 5 business days. Refunds are paid back to the original payment method. We do not charge a fee to process an ACL claim, and proof of purchase may be your order confirmation email or bank statement.
