About us
14 Sports. 2,200+ Players. 400+ Teams.
University of Queensland Interfaculty Competitions Inc. (UQIC) is a not for profit, student led sporting organisation established in the early 1970s to foster interfaculty competition and community through sport at the University of Queensland.
Following a period of revitalisation in 2007, UQIC relaunched interfaculty rugby and netball competitions before steadily expanding its offering, adding additional sports in 2011 and again in 2024. Today, UQIC is one of UQ’s largest and most active student sporting organisations, delivering structured, competitive, and inclusive team sport opportunities for students across the University.
UQIC exists to bring students together through organised sport, encouraging participation, connection, and healthy competition while supporting an active university lifestyle.
In 2025, UQIC offers 14 team based sports competitions. Matches are played on the St Lucia campus across seven nights per week during Semester 1 and Semester 2, with select competitions also running during the Summer Semester. Each season consists of ten rounds of regular competition, typically held between Weeks 2 and 12 of semester.
